This Privacy Policy explains how Built Around You Creative collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Scope and application
1.1 This Privacy Policy ("the Policy") applies to personal information collected by Built Around You Creative, ABN 80 771 885 348 ("BAY", "we", "us", "our"), through the website at builtaroundyou.com.au ("the Site") and in the course of supplying our website design, build, hosting and maintenance services ("the Services").
1.2 We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("the Privacy Act") and the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs").
1.3 This Policy takes effect on 21 July 2026 and applies until replaced by an updated version published on the Site.
2. Personal information we collect
2.1 The only personal information you actively submit through the Site is submitted through the quote form, which collects:
- (a) your email address;
- (b) a telephone number, where you choose to provide one; and
- (c) the information you choose to provide about your business, your current website and your requirements, including selected answers and free-text responses.
2.2 The Site does not provide user accounts and does not collect passwords or payment details.
2.3 When you visit the Site, usage and device information is also collected through the analytics and hosting services described in clauses 4 and 5, which may include IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referral source and interaction data.
3. How we use personal information
3.1 Information submitted through the quote form is used to prepare and provide your quote, to respond to your enquiry and, where you engage us, to supply the Services. It is not used for any other purpose.
3.2 Usage and device information is used in aggregate to operate, secure and improve the Site. We do not use it to identify individuals.
4. Analytics
4.1 The Site uses Google Analytics 4, operated by Google, which collects information such as pages viewed, approximate visitor location, referral sources and use of the quote form, through cookies and similar technologies.
4.2 The Site uses Microsoft Clarity, operated by Microsoft, which collects interaction data such as scrolling and clicking behaviour, used to identify usability issues.
4.3 Each analytics provider processes this information under its own privacy policy.
5. Hosting and processing
5.1 The Site is hosted by Netlify. Traffic to the Site passes through Netlify's infrastructure, and quote form submissions are processed and delivered to us through Netlify's form handling service.
5.2 Netlify processes this information on our behalf as our hosting provider and maintains its own privacy policy. Server logs maintained by Netlify may include IP addresses.
6. Disclosure of personal information
6.1 We do not sell personal information. We do not rent or trade personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their marketing purposes.
6.2 Personal information is disclosed only:
- (a) to the service providers identified in this Policy (Google, Microsoft and Netlify), which process it on our behalf in connection with the operation of the Site; and
- (b) where disclosure is required or authorised by or under law.
7. Overseas disclosure
7.1 Personal information held in the systems of our service providers (Google, Microsoft and Netlify) may be stored or processed on infrastructure located outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which those providers operate.
7.2 In accordance with APP 8, we take reasonable steps in relation to cross-border disclosures of personal information, including relying on the published privacy policies and safeguards of the providers identified in this Policy.
8. Storage and security
8.1 Personal information collected through the Site is held in the systems of the service providers described in this Policy rather than on infrastructure operated by us.
8.2 We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and to destroy or de-identify personal information that is no longer required for a permitted purpose.
9. Access, correction and deletion
9.1 You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing hello@builtaroundyou.com.au or by phoning 0485 999 646.
9.2 No fee is charged for making a request. We will respond within a reasonable period and confirm when the request has been actioned.
10. Complaints
10.1 Complaints about our handling of personal information, including any alleged breach of the APPs, should be directed to us in the first instance at hello@builtaroundyou.com.au. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable period.
10.2 If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
11.1 We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version published on the Site, together with its effective date, applies. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date at the top of this page.
